Unable to log in to Claude Desktop or browser with my Apple ID

I login to Claude app via apple on my phone and paid for the pro. But can’t login on website. I'm not using hide my email or private relay. I'm still not getting any email from anthropic or claude to login to my Desktop or browser. Checked with Claude team and they said issue is on Apple side to add allow email from anthropic server. I dont know what real issue is but its really frustrating, anyone have simialr issues?

This is a known issue that happens when you use "Sign in with Apple" inside a mobile app but try to switch over to a desktop browser. Even though you mentioned you aren't intentionally using "Hide My Email," Apple's system often automatically generates a private, randomized relay email address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com) the very first time you tap "Sign in with Apple" on an iPhone app.

When you try to log into the Claude website or desktop app using your real email address, Anthropic's servers don't recognize it because your Pro subscription is officially tied to that hidden relay email.

Furthermore, if Apple's relay system blocks Anthropic's automated login emails, the magic links never reach your real inbox. Here is how to find your true Claude login email and fix the email block:


Step 1: Find the Exact Email Claude is Using

You need to find out exactly what email address Apple passed to Claude when you created the account on your phone:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the very top.
  3. Tap Sign-In & Security.
  4. Tap Sign in with Apple.
  5. Scroll through the list of apps and tap Claude (or Anthropic).

Look at the email address listed under "This App Received".

  • If it shows your real email, proceed to Step 2.
  • If it shows a long string of letters and numbers ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com, this is the email you must type into the Claude website/desktop login screen to access your Pro account.

Step 2: Unblock Emails from Anthropic/Claude

If Claude is already using your real email address, or if you found the private relay email but you still aren't receiving the login links, Apple's private relay forwarding system is likely filtering out Anthropic's servers.

  1. Go back to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple > Claude.
  2. Look at the Forward To toggle at the bottom. Make sure it is turned ON so emails are actually pushed to your real inbox.
  3. To explicitly allow Anthropic's domain through Apple's system, go to your iCloud Mail settings via a browser or device, check your Junk or Blocked senders list, and ensure @anthropic.com and @claude.ai are not restricted.

Step 3: Use the Direct "Sign in with Apple" Button on Web

When logging into the Claude website or Desktop app, do not manually type your email into the text box. Instead, look for the literal "Continue with Apple" or "Sign in with Apple" button.

This forces the browser to authenticating directly through your iCloud session, bypassing the need for a manual "magic link" email entirely and instantly restoring your Pro status on your desktop.


If You Still Get Stuck

If you try logging in with the Private Relay email (from Step 1) or the direct Apple button and it still fails, your mobile app subscription didn't sync correctly to Anthropic's web database. Since you are a paying Pro customer, you can open a ticket with Anthropic Support and provide them with the Apple Receipt or the privaterelay email address you found; they can manually link your Pro subscription to your preferred personal email address.
