MacBook Pro USB issues after 26.5 update

Macbook pro won't recognize USB peripherals after 26.5 update. Everything worked until his morning, running a Mac USB keyboard through a Pluggable docking station. Fed the keyboard directly into the Mac with a USBA-C adapter, and still nothing. The USB mouse (wireless) in the docking station would not work either. The docking station and all other devices connected to it function normally (two monitors via HDMI, USB-C SSD, Ethernet port). Seems isolated to USB keyboard and mouse. Bluetooth mouse functions normally.

Rebooted the machine twice, with everything plugged in and then with nothing plugged in. Issue remains. Thanks!

On second though

The " Pluggable docking station " is self powered or USB powered

If USB powered is it possible the Dock and other connected devices are Drawing too much amperage leaving no power to the USB KB and Mouse ?

To test this

Disconnect the Docking Station and all connected devices

Test the connections of the USB KB and Mouse

Does your external keyboard using any third party software to manage it? If so, update that third party software and verify that the software is actually compatible with 26.5. We've seen people report a lot of issues with their Logitech accessories whenever a macOS update patch is installed.

Try disconnecting all other external devices in case they are causing a problem & try connecting the keyboard directly to the laptop by itself.

Allow USB and other accessories to connect to your Mac

If you use your Mac laptop with the lid closed

First you need to allow an external display, a mouse, and a keyboard to connect to your Mac laptop. Then you can use your Mac with the lid closed (or with a docking station in which you place your Mac with the lid closed) and allow other accessories to connect without opening the lid.

Already tried that, no effect. Plugging it in doesn't trigger that prompt either. I cleared out the keyboard pref file from the library and that didn't work either ("com.apple.HIToolbox.plist").
This keyboard was working a day before on the exact same setup.

Have a cheap USB-A keyboard and a cheap USB-A Logi Wheel mouse

Used on a M5 MBA and M4 MBA

Both running Tahoe 26.5

To connect the accessories directly to either machines

First time connected to either machine. It would present as per the Apple Support documentation
