Apple Configurator 2 not recognizing iPad Pro in DFU mode (MDM enrolled)

Hi Apple community, looking for some help with an iPad-

Both devices (Mac and iPad Pro 12.9" 5th Gen) are enrolled in Mosyle MDM and Apple Business Manager. The Mac works fine, but Configurator 2 isn't recognizing the iPad when placed in DFU mode (tried both powered on and off).

Already tried different cables, a 2017 iMac, and reinstalling Configurator 2. Haven't been able to test on another MacBook since we don't have a spare.

Any ideas?

Try this

Use Recovery Mode instead of DFU: An iPad Pro without a home button rarely needs raw DFU mode for Apple Configurator ; standard Recovery Mode (holding the top button through the volume clicks until the computer-to-cable graphic appears) is normally detected instantly.

Switch USB port types: Ensure you are using a direct USB-C port rather than an external hub or an older USB-A port via a converter, which frequently drops data communication during state changes.

Test on a modern host Mac: Try to borrow a newer host MacBook or Mac running a recent version of macOS where Apple Configurator is natively integrated and updated via the system rather than an older standalone app version.

Check MDM/ABM lock state: If Mosyle or Apple Business Manager has an active activation lock or pairing restriction payload applied, the host machine may need a specific organizational anchor or authorization certificate trusted on that exact port interface.
