Brightness auto changing.
I know this comes up a-lot, but I'm struggling to fix it.
if I'm watching a video within facebook for example the video can go extremely bright for no apparent reason. I know it’s designed to adjust but barely watchable. switched auto brightness off and a few other settings but still doing it.
even now its dimming whilst typing and lighting hasn’t changed
Are their other settings I'm missing

Some apps like Facebook can automatically adjust certain features and the adjustments can be dependent on your battery charge status. HDR content (photos and videos) will automatically brighten and then automatically darken when SDR content is displayed/viewed. The Facebook settings can override your display settings.
This HDR content adjustment also affects many other third party apps.
Yes, most browsers now recognize when a website is displaying HDR content and displays content at the proper brightness. YouTube makes you select HDR from the apps or sites settings.

does this apply to normal websites as well as apps, as i think it’s changing also.
YouTube seems ok
found some settings in facebook for dark mode and trying those settings
