Tap the App Store icon. If it takes you to the actual App Store, it's real. Only genuine Apple devices can access the App Store.

Fakes (usually running on the Android OS) will do one of a few things. Send you to the Google Play Store. Pretend it can't connect to the App Store despite being able to do pretty much anything else on the web. Send you to a fake site looks like the App Store, but doesn't offer the same list of items you'd see on a genuine Apple device.

If you bought it anywhere but from Apple or an authorized Apple reseller the chance that it is fake or stolen increases dramatically. The fact that you are asking this question means you’re not sure of the source, especially if the price was too good to be true. Was it?
