Virtual Spanish (Spain) Keyboard in IOS 26: Where did it go!

The virtual keyboard layout may differ from the [usually much larger] physical keyboard principally due the available space on-screen - which itself will vary due to the differences in screen sizing between iPad models.

By example, the 13" iPad Pro M5 has more screen space than the otherwise identical 11" iPad Pro M5; due to available on-screen space, these two models will have slightly different key layout - other models with smaller screens being different again. Primary keys will be in consistent with the chosen layout (e.g. US or UK English QWERTY), while secondary characters may be repositioned as appropriate for the available on-screen layout. This constraint is consistent with other iPads, such as the iPad Air M3 - also available in both 13" and 11" models.

Some OS-updates have, on occasion, been known to slightly modify the secondary key locations.

Apple does invite submission of constructive comments and feature requests via its Product Feedback portal. If you would like to see changes in a future version of iPadOS, this would be the most appropriate channel through which to register a request with Apple

Could you post a screenshot of the keyboard you are seeing?

Most iOS virtual keyboards are not the same as the hardware versions because the screens are smaller. My iPad mini for example has this one for Spanish:

Any missing characters are handled via press and hold the base letter.

Good news!

The one labeled ISO is wrong, that’s not Spanish but International English. So Apple does have something to fix. And the other one should also be labeled ISO, since it has the vertical enter key and the extra key next to Z which are what distinguish ISO from US/ANSI.
