I have old iPod model 1121 speakers

that I have not used for many year but want to use them with my iPhone 13.

when I connect them via the cable the audio on the speakers play for only 1/2 second and the stop.

why and what can I do to allow my iPhone to work with the iPod speakers?

Your iPhone 13 cuts off after 0.5 seconds because the iPod hifi  expects an authentic 30-pin digital handshake or a proper analog line-level input. Using uncertified lightning-to-30-pin adapters or improper cables often triggers an impedance mismatch or power protection block, causing the audio to shut down immediately.

Try this

Use the 3.5mm Aux Input: Plug a standard 3.5mm-to-3.5mm audio cable into the audio input port on the back of the iPod Hi-Fi and connect it to your iPhone using an official Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.
