I literally did all of those things, and that's why I posted here.

I followed all of the suggestions from Apple Support: turn it off, turn it back on, all the things that you're saying here. It's just that since the addition of Apple AI intelligence, it's become super unintelligent.

Siri's voice recognition was almost flawless. I talked to my phone every day instead of typing things out. Now I don't bother to try because I have to go back in and re-type most of the words. I use Wispr now on my MacBook because voice recognition on my MacBook is terrible too without Wispr.

I can't use my phone in hands-free mode in my car and tell it to reply to text messages or open apps or anything. It's so frustrating.

Choose the correct language where the name is used correclty.

Add a keyboard of the desired language and if the language is supported for dictation then dictation language is automatically added under Settings > General > > Keyboard > Dictation Language

I Agree with you @pagansb, iPhone 17 pro is awful at voice recognition. My iPhone 13 was almost flawless in comparison. And using Apple CarPlay, forget about it. Not just my daily driver but cars I rent frequently all seem to have an issue with iPhone 17 Pro. ***
