Activation Lock problem

How to get out of the Activation Lock on my iPad Air 2. I don't even have my Apple account. I forgot my Apple ID and my password.

You’ll need to recover access to the Apple Account holding the lock, or present the original purchase receipt to Apple and request the lock be removed.

Activation Lock is intended as a theft deterrent, and is intentionally difficult to bypass. We can’t help, and — absent sufficiently convincing proof — Apple won’t help.

The only way without knowing the Apple Account used to set up the device is by providing the original purchase receipt from Apple or Authorized Apple Seller to remove the Activation Lock.

Without knowing the Apple Account, there is no difference from your device and one that was simply found, that is why the original purchase receipt would be required. Since Apple does not get involved in third party sales, a receipt from any other location will likely be denied. It is common to find locked devices being sold on third party sites where the purchaser is just left with a device that will never be usable to them. That is also a deterrent for trafficking stolen property and buyers should review the information provided here.

If you are not the original owner, then Activation Lock is a security feature to protect the owner from theft. In that case, only the original owner can unlock it. 🔓
