Logitech Doorbell: Mac Home/notifications issue post Wi-Fi system change!

I have a Mac Mini M2, iPhone 15 Pro Max, AppleTV 4k (using as Home Hub), and a Logitech Circle View Doorbell camera. OS, iOS all up to date. The camera was working fine, Notifications, on either Mac or iPhone, local or away from home.

Then I changed my WiFi system, removed older Apple Airport Extreme, Express, replacing with a new TP=Link Drco 6e XE75 3 unit mesh setup. Better coverage, throughout the home.

I did have to reset several devices to connect to the new system. However, the Logitech was stubborn, it needed a 2.4 Ghz wifi, so I created a Guest 2.4 Ghz link and after having to delete the old camera from before the change, I was able to add in back into Home.

But now, I see the camera view from my iPhone's Home, but the Mac OS's Home isn't loading or recording the activities, I'm not getting Notifications at all, on either device.

Since it is at least working on my iPhone, I know the camera is OK, but I am stumped as to why it's not seen on my Mac, or tripping notifications. It is also refusing to let me turn off the Night Vision Light or the Camera Status Light, which might help stop any overheating issues.

I have rebooted Mac & iPhone, power cycles the Doorbell, no improvement... I'm stuck!

I've looked for something to replace it completely, but this one worked prior to the wifi changed, should now...

Thank you for the detailed explanation — that actually helps narrow things down quite a bit. Since the Logitech Circle View Doorbell was working correctly prior to the Wi-Fi infrastructure change, the issue is very likely related to HomeKit/Home Hub communication, multicast networking behavior on the new mesh system, or HomeKit security settings that did not migrate cleanly after the network change.

What stood out for me was:

The doorbell is visible and streams video on the iPhone, which confirms:
- The camera itself is functional
- It successfully joined Wi-Fi
- HomeKit pairing is at least partially working
However:
Notifications are no longer triggering
Recording/activity detection is not functioning properly
macOS Home app is not properly syncing/displaying the camera
Certain camera settings (Night Vision Light / Status Light) are unavailable

Based on my experience, those symptoms together strongly suggest the Home Hub (Apple TV 4K) is either:

Not communicating properly with the camera
Not properly acting as the active Home Hub
Having trouble with the new mesh network’s multicast/mDNS handling
Or HomeKit Secure Video configuration became corrupted during the network transition

Ok, with that said, let's look at some potential causes:

HomeKit relies heavily on multicast DNS (Bonjour/mDNS). Some mesh systems — including certain TP-Link Deco firmware versions — can interfere with HomeKit discovery or isolate IoT devices in unexpected ways. Even if video works locally, HomeKit notifications and HSV (HomeKit Secure Video) recording can fail if multicast traffic is disrupted.
Many guest networks intentionally isolate devices from the main LAN for security reasons. If the Logitech doorbell is on a Guest 2.4 GHz network while the Apple TV/Home Hub is on the primary LAN, HomeKit functionality can partially break. If this is true, these devices are on separate network subnets and cannot properly communicate with each other. If the TP-Link system does not allow for running both 2.4 & 5 GHz networks, then this would potentially be resolved by configuring firewall rules to allow this traffic, which can get a bit "messy" since you are coming from an Apple network ecosystem.
After major network changes, Apple TV Home Hub registration can become stale or partially disconnected from iCloud/HomeKit.
Deleting/re-adding the camera after the Wi-Fi migration may have left the camera’s HSV configuration partially broken inside HomeKit.
Since the iPhone can still see the camera but the Mac cannot properly load it, the Mac’s HomeKit cache/database may not have refreshed correctly after the network/device migration.

Great, so now what? The good news is that there some potential solutions.

Move the Doorbell OFF the Guest Network. Instead of using the Guest SSID:
- Create a dedicated 2.4 GHz IoT SSID on the MAIN LAN
- Ensure it is NOT isolated from other devices
- Connect the Logitech doorbell to that network

Note that the Apple TV Home Hub and iPhone should remain on the same logical LAN/subnet. I believe this one step will resolve this issue ... and, if so, you can ignore the rest of my reply.

Verify Deco Mesh Settings. Inside the Deco app, look for settings related to:
- AP Isolation
- Client Isolation
- IoT Isolation
- Multicast Filtering
- IGMP Snooping
- Fast Roaming
- Beamforming
Reboot the Entire HomeKit Chain in Order
- Power off all Deco units
- Power off Apple TV
- Power off Logitech doorbell (breaker or transformer power)
- Wait 2–3 minutes

Then power up in this order:

Main Deco router
Remaining Deco nodes
Apple TV
iPhone/Mac
Logitech doorbell
Verify Apple TV Home Hub Status
- On Apple TV: Settings → AirPlay & HomeKit
- Confirm:
  - Apple TV is signed into the correct Apple Account
  - “Home Hub Connected” appears
Finally, check for firmware updates for all of your devices.

This is/was the key, I had to delete the existing camera, then Add the new one after I rest the doorbell, connected it to the new IoT SSID portal I created at 2.4ghz, the iPhone Home saw the camera, checked the Mac's Home, it also sees the camera! Plugged it back into its place at the front door, once it recovered, it all still is working! I still have to check, set up Notifications, but the doorbell & camera are working again, the rest should be good as well...

Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction, I feared the worst, , but Bingo, the above paragraph was the solution! The view is a tad light, but Logitech does not have any image quality adjustments... I also have to sort out the iCloud+ connection, recordings, but for now, it's looking great!

Wow, Thank You,

A lot to digest there, so it will take me a bit to sort it out, I have not, in a long time, rebooted the AppleTV, 4K, being used as my Hub, it has been updated to 26.5, I believe, but, I may do a reboot, just because it's been a long time.

Something I forgot to mention is that I am subscribed to iCloud+ (200gb) and originally the Logitech stored its recordings there, likely via the hub and its linkage.

Another, when I look at the Deco App, it shows what clients are on each unit, I don't see the Logi-doorbell on any, but maybe it is or would be hidden inside the AppleTV 4K client...

I will dig into making a separate 2.4Ghz SSID for the doorbell, off the Guest list. That it needed a 2.4Ghz access was when I was finally able to connect...

Very interesting, challenging situation...
