Finder sidebar only shows My Mac and USB port

Do you see the "Favorites" label?

Is it maybe collapsed?

Hover over the label, and a small arrow pointing to the right should appear, click on that to expand the Favorites section.

first go into Finder Settings.

and once there, choose "sidebar" and make sure that, in the "locations" section, "External disks" is selected.

and if it is already selected, try and toggle it off and back on.

ok. just go into finder. settings, in the Sidebar tab, and select any of the things you want to show up in the sidebar.

I've never heard of the Finder showing USB ports in the sidebars of Finder windows. Volumes on drives connected to USB ports, yes. USB ports, themselves, no.

if yes, first open your finder then locate and select the USB stick.

then just "control click" or "right click" on the USB drive and choose Rename "Whatever it is currently called"

sorry, but I guess I'm not sure what you are asking. I thought you asked about having the USB stick show up in the finder sidebar. what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
