When I try to cinnect my Iphone 16Pro bluetooth to my MacBook Pro VentureOS I get a notice that it "isn't supported". What do I need to do to accomplish. The iPhone is current OS as is the Ventura up to date.

"To AirDrop from your iPhone to your Mac, first open the photo or file you want to share, tap the Share button, select AirDrop, and choose your Mac from the list. Ensure that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on both devices."

The iPhone and the Mac do not pair as you would a speaker or headset. They never have.
There are some features that require both devices to have Bluetooth turned on , but pairing the devices is not a thing.
To sync them or transfer photos or use the backup function on the Mac, you connect them through a cable, USB-C for the iPhone, and the appropriate connector for your Mac (might be USB 3 or USB-C depending on the age of the Mac).

That's one way of doing it. iCloud Photos is another. This Support article describes both.

Agreed. The method I use is iCloud Photos, it's seamless. I also use iCloud backup for the iPhone. And the iPhone updates its iOS over the air (WiFi) just fine. So I don't really connect my iPhone to the Mac anymore, it seems. But the OP seemed to want to do it in some manner.
Hi and thank you for your answer and the time you spent. What I've been trying to do is use Air Drop to drop photos from my phone to my MacBook Pro. I used to be able to do that with my iPhone 4 and when I upgraded to an iPhone 16 it stopped working. I have probably been describing my problem erroneously sincce it's apparent the transfer functions via bluetooth. I have blutooth enabled on both devices but it still won't 'synch' to drop the photos.
I've been using Macs since 1984 when I got a Mac Plus desktop. With every iteration of the multitude of Mac products the complexity expands and makes using them for 'some of us' more difficult.....

For what it's worth, AirDrop doesn't transfer files/photos over BT. It transfers them over WiFi. Bluetooth is used for the initial handshake.
