for about 4 years, I have been in search of a MacBook. This is for many reasons. But one thing I would like to know, is if a game named ‘timberborn’ runs on Mac. Does anybody know? I would also like to know how it runs on Neo, as it is a dream game of mine.

Developer Mechanistry recommends a Mac with Apple M3 chipset and at least 16 GB of RAM. E.g.: iMac 2023 or newer, MacBook Pro Late 2023 or newer, MacBook Air Early 2024 or newer.
Although with adjusted settings, it should run on M1 or M2 Macs too (minimum requirements).
MacBook Neo is a budget edition laptop. It doesn’t have specifications that make it suitable for demanding games. If you’re doubting the speed or power, then the Neo is probably not for you.

The MacBook Neo has only 8 GB of RAM. Its GPU benchmarks at only about 2/3rd of the speed of the one in a M3 MacBook Air, or less than half the speed of the one in a M5 MacBook Air. (If Apple had not introduced the Neo, the M5 MacBook Air would be considered the entry-level notebook in the Mac notebook line.)
When the New York Times reviewed the MacBook Neo, they thought that it was the best laptop you could get if you were limited to a budget of $600. They said it did have a few flaws, one of which was "The Neo can run a handful of lighter games, but serious gamers should consider a gaming PC instead."

Steam indicates M1 or better is required at minimum.

So conceivably it could run on the Neo, but how well or how large a city you can make before it starts having slowdowns and other issues is unknown.
There's nothing stopping you from installing it though.

Investigating if a Game will Play on a Mac:
I’m not certain who the Developers are on these games. Can you provide that? I see lots of site when googling them. Look on their Minimum System Requirements, or contact the Developer, asking them for this info. It all comes down the compatibility.
