Umm.. could you be any less specific about said 'nightmare'...?

You have to admit, there isn't much in your post that helps anyone understand your problem, triage the symptoms, or suggest any kind of fix. As such, you're not likely to get much satisfaction.

Maybe you can start by explaining what this 'nightmare' is... the symptoms... what's working (or not working), and what you expect to see.

Oh, it seems that my post wasn't posted, only the headline...I'll try again here:

"last week I posted in this forum about the chaos I was experiencing with Safari Bookmarks. But I persisted, carefully arranging and moving them to folders where I wanted them, deleting many duplicates, and as of this afternoon South Africa time, thought I finally had them all in order, everything appearing normal as I had arranged it. All seemed ok. This was on my MacMini M2 Pro. Later today I booted up my MacStudio M4 Max and opened Safari. Last week's bookmarks mess was still there on my MacStudio's Safari. (Naturally it would be, because my MacStudio hadn't been turned on since last week). An hour or so later I checked back on my MacMini. The bookmarks, once again, all scrambled back into the same mess that they were on my MacStudio. Many bookmarks which I deleted have magically reappeared. Folders which I thought I had deleted, reappeared. So my question is this: do Apple engineers not foresee a scenario where users might have more than one desktop machine? If the scenario assumes that some Mac users have more than one computer, which machine is the "main" one on which if any changes are made to Safari Bookmarks, those changes will reflect via iCloud to the other computers? Surely the most recent and latest changes should pull through to the other computers? It's most unfortunate that there is no user control over how this functions. I can't figure out if this is an iCloud or Safari issue - or both. And most unfortunately, Apple Support line agents do not have the technical know-how to help resolve this issue."
