iPhone cannot AirDrop to MacBook Pro

• Go to  > System Settings > General > AirDrop & Handoff > AirDrop, and temporarily change it to Everyone. If it works there then it may be an issue with the Contact information in the Contacts app for the sending device.
• Also if you have a VPN/Antivirus installed on the Mac, that may be interfering with network connections for receiving an AirDrop. Those types of network problems with a VPN/Antivirus are addressed here:

Some shots in the dark but fiddle these settings OFF/ON:

Reboot both devices and the router, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Location Services, AirDrop "Contacts Only" or "Everyone", turn VPN OFF or uninstall it (unless needed to access work or school intranet), turn built-in Firewall OFF (it is not needed anyway).

Airdrop can be finicky yes...

shut down all device and restart, modem, router, Mac, iPhone and compare your results

Ok.... so you have some functionality.

Airdrop can still be finicky, nothing changed there— wait a week and try again your problem iPhone and report back

if you can't stand to wait— you can try manually clearing some System caches to sort anomlies

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support, then reboot as normal.
