It is always the case that people are going to post problems they believe are connected to updates and not make posts saying, "I updated. Everything is fine."

But, for the record, no updates have caused a decline in the sound quality of my AirPod Pro 3s.

The first thing to check when you are having problems like that is whether or not the openings have gotten clogged with earwax.

I don't know if there are increased reports but it's certainly true that every software update has degraded the performance of the two pairs I have. In my case it's ANC; when I first got them the ANC was fantastic and I could sit on the train in virtual silence. Today it is practically no different from the physical isolation given by the ear buds. Switching ANC on and off makes only the slightest difference and for people talking nearby there is no cancellation at all. I've given up with them and gone back to my wired headphones. They don't have ANC but they are better than the Airpods for isolation and the sound quality is on a different level.

I just received my Airpod 3 pros last week and noticed right from the start that the sound on calls starts cutting out. The other person also cannot hear me when this happens and the audio is very choppy and robotic. The issue goes away and the call goes back to normal as soon as I transfer the call to speakerphone or handset. When listening to music, the sound is fine and doesn't have any interruptions.
