iPhone 12 call screen missing speaker icon

I too don't ever recall seeing a speaker icon on a persons contact. For me, I've always tapped the phone icon, then if I want to use the speaker, choose that option after the call is started.

I don't recall there ever being a 'speaker' icon on that screen.
