Mac Studio: Migrate user account after Photos sync issue

I am currently running 15.7.7 on my Mac Studio.

About a year ago, my phone was no longer syncing properly with Photos--none of the albums were listed in the photos tab during backup/sync. So on the advice of the community, I laboriously exported all the albums and created a new user account that I switch into just to sync my phone. But I'm tired of this kludge.

So my question is, are there any steps/procedures and/or pitfalls to be aware of in shifting my entire user setup/identity from my older, broken user account to my newer functional account?
