Trouble on YAHOO with constant message”do you want to download Setuid?”

I started having this issue too. “Setuid download completion” started would pop up every time I moved in my yahoo email. I went through everything trying to find this file to delete once I read it would give someone else the ability to override me and access information. I contacted yahoo who sent me nothing related to the issue or screenshot of the setuid download. I finally realized it started after I downloaded a word search game to play. I deleted the game and restarted my phone. It’s gone! I would suggest but can’t guarantee you delete the last things you downloaded from the time and since then and restart whatever you are using. It might work.

I tried everything I could find to no avail, but instead I have downloaded the Yahoo App on my iPad instead of using Safari. So far so good.

Troubleshoot with Yahoo support or look at their website.

It started happening to me a few days ago. It happens on yahoo.com and aol.com. Coincidentally, they are part of the same company. It happens with the safari and chrome browsers. It has not happened on any other websites. My iPad is very old and although it just had an OS update, it will not update to the current version of the OS. Surprisingly, it does not happen with the DuckDuckGo browser.

Consult Yahoo support, if any such thing still exists. Or … don’t go to yahoo.

I clicked on a news link through Reddit and recieved the pop up to download ‘setuid’. Do not download this and recommend do not visit Yahoo sites for now.

The answer is simple……Stop using Yahoo. They are complicit with the message.

Oh, I also switched back to the original version of yahoo email at the same time. Not sure which worked but my fingers are crossed.
