MacBook Keyboard Key Not Working

I spilled water on my MacBook keyboard and only one of the keys stopped working, but if I press it down hard enough it does work. How much would it cost to repair or is it possible for me to repair it on my own?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 26.3

Liquid damage is hard to price without an inspection. Even if it’s only one key right now, water can cause other problems later.

I wouldn’t try to repair this yourself. Back up the Mac now, and if there’s any chance moisture is still inside, keep it powered off.

Then have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider check it. They can tell you what actually needs repair and give you the real cost.

Keyboards are replaced not repaired. This would be an upper case replacement.

If the Logic board needs replaced as well— that is quite the expense.
