Disk Utility's First Aid feature is quite safe, but it really won't give you much information about the 'condition' of your drive. First Aid focuses on the drive's directory information for the volumes and containers. It does nothing to address the health of the physical drive.
If you are looking for a good drive diagnostic app to evaluate your drive(s), I recommend that you take a look at DriveDx from Binary Fruit. It's easy to use and pretty thorough.

Drives have a limited number of write/erase cycles before they start to degrade. Now, most people will never run up against that limit, but why add to the load by spending a lot of time running software when you don't have a reason to? It's kind of like getting regular X-rays to make sure that your bones are okay. Doctors don't recommend X-rays unless there is a reason because X-rays carry a risk, albeit a small one.
What problems are you seeing that you think you should be running First Aid?
it would not do any harm
try reading How to repair a Mac storage device with Disk Utility - Apple Support
They run permanently in the background and periodically measure your drive's health.
They use minimal resources and have no measurable effect on performance.

If you are referring to the built in functionality of First Aid, why would you think it is not safe?
Further, why do you think you need to use it?
What functionality issues are you seeing?
Is it safe
Just to see if my drive is in good condition
Try these free apps to keep you happy (or worried):-
