I want to add an external HDD to my Time Capsule via USB. What do I need to do?

To add an external hard drive to your AirPort Time Capsule, format the drive to macOS Extended (HFS+) for a Mac or FAT32 for Windows, plug it into the Time Capsule's USB port, and enable file sharing via the Airport Utility app.
