iPhone 15 Pro Max camera quality issues after update

iphon 15 pro max

"Hello everyone,

I am facing a serious issue with my iPhone 15 Pro Max camera quality. Recently, after updating the software, the photos are losing details, looking over-processed or like an oil painting, and there is unwanted grain or noise on faces.

I have tried cleaning the lens, force closing the app, restarting the phone, and resetting all settings, but nothing has worked. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated."

If the update did this, it would have done it to every iPhone updated (millions upon millions upon millions) and this forum would be blown up with people complaining, but it's not. The tech press would be all over this, but they're not. So waiting for the next update to fix something which for the vast majority of people, is not the best option. Schedule an appointment and have your cameras tested now.

To better understand the phenomenon, it would be very helpful if you could share a full, uncropped screenshot. Visual information often provides insights that are difficult to convey through written descriptions alone. Additionally, please include the camera settings used when the photos were taken (such as exposure, night mode, HDR, Live Photo, lens selection, and any other relevant settings), as these details may help identify the cause of what you are observing.

Please remember that this is a public forum, so when attaching a screenshot, please avoid including any personal credentials such as IP addresses, card details, email IDs, Apple IDs, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, phone numbers, order IDs, or any identifiable location information if you are sharing a map.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.

I'm not.

I cannot speak for others, but if this were common with other users, this site would be flooded with the same reports.....and it's not. Nor, can I find another report of this behavior using a search of this site.

I don't have the answers except to say that this is not an "update" issue. There is nothing to "fix".

Most likely, you have a hardware / camera issue.

Not every issue an individual encounters on their device can be attributed to an iOS update. If the update itself were the root cause, then every device running that same version of iOS would exhibit the identical problem. In such a scenario, the forums would be flooded with countless posts reporting the same malfunction, creating an unmistakable wave of complaints that no one could possibly overlook. The absence of such widespread reports strongly indicates that the issue is not systemic, but rather specific to the device in question.
