Paired AirTag beeps and plays setup chime when moved

That’s an indication that a device belonging to the paired Apple Account is not being detected nearby.

Suggest checking your devices and verifying that “FindMy -> FindMy Network“ are both “on.”

Devices which are turned “off” or are otherwise non-communicating can induce the same effect.

Another thought … has it’s battery been replaced in the last year ?

If so, it’s simple and safe to remove and re-pair.

Just ensure that you’re in a location with a solid WiFi connection to the internet AND that ANY additional Apple devices you might own are online and connected as well. (e.g. iPad, Mac, …)

Is it BOTH the old and new tags?

Does the beeping occur “all / almost all” of the time …

… or is it only occasionally ?

i.e prevalent after the tag and/or your phone been idle and unmoving for an extended period? (e.g. first thing in the morning)
