M1 iPad Pro: Camo Studio PiP recording, external cam, audio

Hi, I hope You are having a good day

I want to buy a M1 iPad Pro, but since I don’t have any access to iPad before purchasing, I want to make sure if “Camo studio” app can fulfill my needs. I’m a YouTube reactor and I want to record realtime YouTube app (while im watching Youtube) and my picture from an external camera and external Mic in PiP mode so I have two questions:

1. Can This app on M1 iPad Pro record YouTube and my external camera feed at the same time in the background without any lagging while I’m watching YouTube ?

2. Is there any setting on the Camo Studio app which I can control my external Mic level and original Youtube sound independently so I can increase or decrease each one separately ?

Thank you so much in advance for helping me. 🙏🙏

Great questions! Here are answers to both:

1. PiP recording with YouTube and external camera on M1 iPad Pro:

Yes, the M1 iPad Pro is powerful enough to handle simultaneous YouTube playback and external camera recording via Camo Studio without significant lag. The M1 chip has dedicated media encode/decode engines that handle this well. However, note that YouTube's app may not natively support PiP in all regions without a YouTube Premium subscription. You can use Safari to play YouTube in PiP mode instead. Camo Studio can capture your external camera feed simultaneously while you watch YouTube in a PiP window.

2. Independent audio level control in Camo Studio:

Camo Studio on iPad does offer some audio source controls, but the level of independent mixing between your external mic and app audio (YouTube) depends on your recording setup. For full independent control of audio levels:

- Use a third-party audio mixer app alongside Camo (e.g., GarageBand or a dedicated iOS mixer)

- On iPadOS, you can use the volume slider for system audio separately from mic gain in Camo's settings

- For professional results, consider using an audio interface that allows hardware-level control of each input

The M1 iPad Pro is an excellent choice for your YouTube reaction content creation workflow. Good luck with your purchase!
