Mobile Safari lost all bookmarked favorite icons

This iPhone I work with just lost all its favorite icons for the bookmarks on the new tab page. I have no idea what I did or how this came about. Is there a way to restore them without deleting and remaking each and every website I bookmarked?

Notice how YouTube kept its icon as you see with the small red patch visible in the lower right corner area. Baffling why this would be inconsistent.
