MacBook Pro showing incorrect location

Sky had me messing with my router today...long story.

I have had to clear my cookies etc on my Macbook Pro, which means I was logged out of ebay etc etc.

When I had anything like that before and logged in, I would get an email to say someone had logged in blah blah. and my location....which was the correct location.

But now I'm getting my location listed as in Manchester, I'm in South Wales.

Location services are toggled on, on my Mac.

Can I get it to change from my Mac?

EDIT: I'm not running a VPN.

Because the Mac has no GPS location tech built into it, the determination of its location is made by means of its internet connection, specifically whatever IP address the ISP is feeding to the Mac from the router.

You may have to have a conversation with your provider to straighten this out.

Why did they have you messing with the router? Perhaps this is a related problem.

My wifi kept dropping out, and I was also getting jitter between 74 to 101.

My router was two foot away from my mac in the middle of the room.

Then my TV lost the internet connection.

The tests from their end were fine, they kept saying.

Went through everything, resetting, unplugging.

tried different Ethernet cables.

How many devices are in my house blah blah.

I kept saying, if you are showing the speed is fine coming in, but my mac, phones, and TV keep dropping out, there's only one thing between them, and that's the router.

They wouldn't send an engineer out or replace the router because everything from their end was showing ok.

I resolved it somehow...don't know how in the end myself

So everything is ok now, apart from my location.
