when I open image playground on my iphone 17 pro. I get a message that says "downloading support for Image Playground... once downloaded, iphone will be able to create images for you." How do i get past this message?

You wait for it to complete downloading the necessary components.
Always find if reset all settings, that makes everything run better, the only draw back is you have reset few things to the way you like the general settings. But it seems to work for me, just thought
Not sure how long to wait. I have left it over night. At least 8 hrs. I have turned Apple intelligence off waited over one minute then turned it back on. I have deleted and reinstalled the app. Powered off/on the iphone. I am connected to my home wifi. Which has over 200 meg bit download speed. I have only used this once a couple of days ago. It seamed to work ok. I tried to use it again yesterday while connected to cellular data and received this message and have not been able to get past it. I am not sure what else to try.
I went to the app store and it appears that I have the app and it will let me open the pictures there,I have Apple intelligence enabled. I am using ChatGPT for translations however because I can write in Punjabi without an issue. Could that be the issue. I also have left the it to download whatever it feels it needs. This came as a surprise, and interesting that it happened right after WWDC and the release to delvelopers and those who use the beta software.
please let tell us how long it took for it to allow you to use it again. I have been using this feature since last year around the Christmas and New Year's - I use it almost daily. I have to wait sometimes for the next day to use it agian but never have I had this happen.
I’m having this problem also on my iPhone 16 Pro Max on IOS 26.5 and my iPad Pro M1 on iPad OS 26.5. On both devices the previously created images show up and can be used, but no new images can be created and the download support image is displayed for over 24 hours now.
maybe I need new devices.
That makes zero sense that an iPhone that is approx a year old since the 18 isn't out yet would be too old to run
s program that suddenly. If I can't use that AI software I will resort to ChatGPT. It hurts Apple more to make my 17 Pro not usable because if I were considering upgrading to a pay per subscription. You have just guaranteed I won't bother since it won't work on my device.

I tried it again this evening and it appears to be working.
Today June 13 2026 the playground is back and no longer displaying the downloading message. :) However, the CHATGPT portion still seems broken with Task Failed when attempting to use
