I'm not receiving calls while screen sharing on FaceTime. I wasn't able to respond to a family emergency because of this. I see there are a couple people who have raised this issue and not a single time did apple respond in support.

I do not use "Do Not Disturb", so it was definitely not that.

If you are describing a FaceTime screen-sharing session (SharePlay or Screen Sharing) where incoming cellular calls do not alert you or interrupt the session, this is not expected behaviour. Normally an iPhone should still notify you of incoming calls while you are on a FaceTime call, allowing you to answer, decline or ignore them.
