Why can’t I open.ICS calandar files on my iPhone 17? So then I have to open them on my laptop instead.

Please see the recommendation in this discussion: .ics file can’t import to Calendar - Apple Community. My understanding is that you can also do it in Mail if you receive an ics file attachment.
You could let Apple know: Product Feedback - Apple.
Thank you for telling me that but it doesn’t work for me. It’s not very easy. I wish I could just double click the dot ICS file and it would add it to my Outlook calendar. It works to add it to my Google Calendar. That’s another workaround. Please have Apple work on an update that will allow this to be functional.
