iPhone 16 Pro Max: Genmoji/Playground stuck downloading

Using iPhone 16 pro max, software is up to date. Both Genmoji and Playground say “downloading support etc”

its been like this for a couple of days, tried shutting down, rebooting, and leaving plugged in overnight.


any new advice please?

Hi, yes — this usually means the Apple Intelligence support download is stuck, not that your phone is broken.

Try this

  • Make sure Apple Intelligence is turned on.
  • Keep the iPhone on stable Wi‑Fi and plugged in for a while.
  • Check Settings > General > Language & Region and set the region to United States if it is not already.

If still stuck

  • Restart the iPhone again after changing the region.
  • Check Settings > General > iPhone Storage and remove any partial Playground/Genmoji download if shown, then try again.
  • If nothing changes, sign out and back into iCloud or contact Apple Support.
