iPhone: Metro by T-Mobile eSIM activation pop-ups

I have been receiving pop up messages to activate eSIM Metro by T mobile on my iPhone. I never purchased any device and never purchased any product from T- Mobile. I from Malaysia and in Malaysia we don’t have service for T-Mobile. My iPhone iOS has been updated to latest iOS 26.5.1. I have been using my iPhone 17 Pro Max since 19 September 2025. I never experienced this problem before. Until I received the notification to activate eSIM Metro by T mobile on 11 June 2026, 0300 hours. The message keep coming randomly even I already switched off my mobile data for my local eSIM. I thought iPhone is most secure and now I become lost trust.

Several third‑party apps allow you to add a second phone number to your iPhone for calls, texts, or business use. If you have installed one of these apps, it’s possible that the recurring “Metro by T‑Mobile eSIM activation” pop‑ups are not coming directly from your carrier, but are instead being triggered by the app itself.

These apps often simulate or manage virtual numbers by interacting with your device’s SIM/eSIM framework. As a result, they can sometimes cause unexpected activation prompts or carrier‑style notifications, especially if the app is misconfigured or conflicts with your existing eSIM setup.

To troubleshoot:

  1. Check your installed apps – Look for any third‑party calling or messaging apps that provide secondary numbers.
  2. Review app permissions/settings – Disable or adjust features related to SIM/eSIM management.
  3. Update or reinstall the app – Outdated versions may cause repeated activation triggers.
  4. Confirm with your carrier – Ensure that Metro by T‑Mobile has not actually initiated an activation request.
  5. Remove the app temporarily – If the pop‑ups stop, you’ve identified the source.

To improve my understanding of the phenomenon, it would be highly beneficial if you could share a full screenshot (Do not crop it). Visual representations carry a greater impact than written descriptions.

Please remember that this is a public forum, so when attaching a screenshot, please avoid including any personal credentials such as IP addresses, card details, email IDs, Apple IDs, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, phone numbers, order IDs, or any identifiable location information if you are sharing a map.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.

There is such a thing. That may not be what you have, but believe me, such a thing exists.

You did not answer the question. What is the model number of the phone displayed in Settings>General>About>Model Number ?

I got this iPhone directly from local carrier in Malaysia pre launch iPhone 17 Pro Max, 17 September 2025. I bought this iPhone contract with local carrier in Malaysia. That local carrier is my company that I work for too.

That wasn’t what I asked you. You stated this phone was purchased from the company that is both your carrier, and your employer. And you haven’t consulted with support from this company?

In addition, you have been asked to provide model information from the phone itself (NOT a piece of paperwork).

Why do you refuse to provide some of the information that could best allow us to help you?
