Read-only Seagate drive on Monterey (NTFS

I purchased a Seagate external hard drive to drag and drop certain movie files and photos for backup. It appears i have read only access and i'm unable to change to read/write. Then I noticed the format of the seagate drive is "Window NT File System (NTFS). The drive was supposed to be Mac compatible, so I assumed it would be plug and play/functional-able.

I really don't know anything about computers, but can you confirm that it's a format issue and if I change the format I will be able to write to the drive or be able to change the privilege to Read/Write? If so, where can I find "step by step" instructions on how to reformat my external hard drive using MacOSMontery 12.....

Thx

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7
