Apple Books app showing on my Backup's list for no reason

Why is the Apple Books app showing on my iPhone's Backup Details when it is not shown on my App Library nor in my Settings (Apps list)?

I don't use Apple Books and it was not on my phone during all my Backup processes, so why is it being shown on the Backups list (let alone with no Apple Books app) on my device?

Apple Books is a stock app that comes installed with iOS. It is possible to uninstall it and this is perhaps what you have done.

To be absolutely sure, go to the App Library and search for “Books”. If the search results do not show Books, it is uninstalled. In which case you can safely remove Books from your iCloud backups.

How do I remove the Apple Books app from my backup?

Even when I disable the Apple Books app from backing up (deleted from the iPhone), when undertaking a Restore procedure, the Apple Books app remains on the iCloud Backup that is being restored.

On top of that, all files and folders in the Files App no longer download onto the iPhone after completing the iPhone Reset process (wiping of all data on the phone) during the Restore process.

I have had to revert back to the third prior Backup to remove the issue for which I have lost multiple important files.

This appears to be a data integrity issue which has manifested during the latest iOS 26.5 update.
