Apple Watch 10 Apple ID password verification fails
My Watch 10 running 26.5, needs me to Sign In to my Apple Account.
My MacBook Pro > Passwords > Apple Account Password > Set to display the password in Large Type [Font?].
My iPhone 16 Pro Max > Switched On and Unlocked > Displays Keyboard, and the system is functional.
So I have an excellent display of the Password, on a 27" Monitor. and can type it on my iPhone, which transmits my input to the Watch 10. Wonderful, except that is never verifiable on the Watch. Hard to accept typos in every one of the many inputs.
In the past I have experienced similar lack of verification due to an unnoticed change to the 'required' Password, i.e., initially asked for the Password for Apple Account, followed by a request for Password for Log In, a change that went unnoticed in small font, by old eyes.
In the present case, verification terminates the process before, what I assume was, the second security stage.
In Passwords > Click on the obscured Password > Reveals the Password including two Hyphens, suggesting that are part of the Password > Right Click on the obscured Password > Reveals it in Large Format with the Hyphens coloured Blue, giving an impression they may not be part of the Password. Are Hyphens part of the Password?
I have used both options but neither are verifiable. To overcome the limited number of Password failures before being forced to 'change your Password', after a couple of failures Cancelling provides further opportunities, and I have probably wasted a lot of time.
I accept that Changing Passwords on a regular basis is a good idea, why not change rather than use an old Password? Ditch Passwords for Passwords that do not exist before you need them? Or is this an Apple ploy to introduce changes?
Has anyone tried changing Passwords rather than accessing Passwords? I'm going to ring the changes for a while.
Cheers, G
