There's no requirement to keep an iPhone box, unless you are within the 14 day return window for a new iPhone. I do keep the box to my current phone, but not to phones I no longer own or have in my possession.

If I don’t own the product any longer I recycle the box and most of the contents. If I still own the product I keep box for reasons mentioned and also because I generally get a higher resale price if the product includes the box etc. You only need to look on eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Amazon to see that used consumer electronics with original boxes and paperwork sell for more.
Just my experience and your mileage may vary. 😃
Thank you for your post.
It’s not necessary to keep old iPhone boxes, but they can be useful for resale, storage or warranty returns.
The information contained on and within the box can serve as a useful resource of product information.
Take care! 👋🏼😉

no, but at times in these forums people ask how they can get their phones IMEI number after their phone was lost and stolen, and well the IMEI is suppose to be on the box..
No. Recycling programs and trade-in services don't require the original box, so keeping it won't make much difference.

Do you mean “cases”?
IMO: OtterBoxes go for big bucks, and you’ll sure spend a boatload if you end up needing it in the future(because of Supply & Demand.” So, I’d say keep them aside.
No, I think it pretty clear that tne OP means the packaging.
If you intend on reselling it yourself, maybe. And it can be useful for the phone information on the box. But otherwise, probably doesn’t get you much.

Your choice.
Absolutely keep the original purchase receipt, if purchased from Apple or an authorized reseller.
To clarify, I do tend to keep mine. If I sell the device directly to anyone I include the box. That’s rare these days, but you never know. I never keep boxes for devices I no longer own.
It does not need to be stored after the return period expires. However, I still keep the boxes of apple products I bought. It's all a matter of preference:)

Yep. The box is certainly one way to find the IMEI, but there are other ways to retrieve the IMEI, without the phone and without the box: Find the serial number, EID, or IMEI on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
