imessage texts not being received yet responded to by someone else

not getting text messages from sender, but their messages are being read and responded to by someone else! they are using my correct phone number as well! very very uncomfortable with this. please help!

iPhone 14, iOS 26

Here are some possibilities.

Someone else is with the recipient and they are having them respond to you.
The recipient is forwarding the Text Messages.
The recipient has another device signed into their Apple Account and the person using that device will then get those messages.
The recipient has had their Apple Account compromised.
