Numbers stock price formula not working for some stocks

Earlier today, I noticed the stock price formula stopped working for some stocks (displays error triangle). Appears to be totally random across a mix of stocks and ETFs. Examples on my end include PINE, ASAIY, FLCH, DISV, CSB.

I quit and re-opened Numbers on my desktop but the problem persists. The same behavior is occurring in iOS on my iPad. Anyone else experiencing this behavior?

If I'm not mistaken, the Numbers app gets its quotes from Yahoo! Finance. If you have the same issue on your Mac and iPad, I would venture that the Yahoo! server had issues.

As of right now, I can pull the quotes for the 2 first stocks/ETFs you mentioned (PINE and ASAIY). (I haven't tried the remaining ones.)

On my end, when I validate the formula STOCK("PINE",price), Numbers briefly flashes the error triangle but retrieves the quote:

Did you try to enter the formula in a brand new file, sheet and table (just to make sure something is not amiss in your current spreadsheet)?

I don't know how Numbers retrieves the quotes behind the scenes, i.e if Safari/WebKit is involved. You could try to clear the Safari cookies and history. You could also try to clear the Safari caches: in Safari, click Develop > Clear Caches (Use the developer tools in the Develop menu in Safari on Mac - Apple Support).

Restarting your Mac in Safe Mode (to clear the other cache files) may also help: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I'm aware of the Yahoo Finance source. Puzzling that you are able to obtain quotes using the formula but I can't. It's just a formula. When I delete the formula and then enter the formula back into the cell (copy formula from adjacent row), the stock price appears momentarily and then reverts to the error triangle almost immediately.

Thank you again for the suggestions. Without yet having cleared a caches, I did create a blank spreadsheet and entered the formula for one of the problem stocks and it correctly displayed the stock price.

The Numbers file I'm having trouble with contains 15 worksheets with approximately 300 stock positions, tracking costs, current price, dividends, realized and unrealized gains, etc. It's fairly involved and has been working fine for years. It's just these 6 or 7 stock/ETFs out of 300+ that are not working correctly.

I'll go through the other steps you suggested to see if the matter is resolved.
