Apple TV 4K Kids profile missing but name in use

Tried creating a Kids profile on my Apple TV 4K (A2843 (128GB), tvOS 26.5). Initially it seemed to work (no errors), but there's no profile. Attempt to create it again, says I can't because the name is in use. What gives?

Meanwhile, on my ancient Apple TV 4K (1st Generation) apparently the Kid's profile got created successfully? Is this supposed to work? Do I need to go onto my 1st gen ATV to create a profile on my current ATV, which makes no !@#$ sense?
