MacBook Pro: Cannot save emailed link content

I am trying to discover a way to save the content of an emailed link to a folder on the desktop of my MacBook Pro.

If I open the link from the email and select 'save as...' all that happens is I get a copy of the html link details in the top bar but no content to appear.

Anyone any ideas how I might access this download rather than having to search back for the particular email and click on the link therein?

I understand you would like to download a web page (obviously not yours; one hosted on some remote server) and host it directly on your Mac, so that the links within it still work as clickable links. You can do that.

One app I used in the past is SiteSucker: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sitesucker/id442168834?mt=12

There are similar apps but SiteSucker satisfies one of my criteria:

Be advised any links in those pages, if directed elsewhere (i.e. not hosted locally) may expire / time out, or require authentication that will fail now or in the future.
