How to remove Live Speech box on Mac mini?

I asked how to remove the "speak to voice" box that covered up my menu bar and was irritatingly in the way. Answers were out of date. Currently as of June 19, 2026 on my Mac mini, I went to System Settings>Accessibility>Live Speech and disabled it or deselected it i.e. TURNED IT OFF! Ha - it worked. That annoying gray lozenge shaped box is gone!

That is correct! Turning off Live Speech under System Settings > Accessibility on your Mac mini successfully removes that floating voice box. Apple uses that gray box for typing text that the Mac then speaks out loud.

Digging deep on a 2 month old post where no question was asked and reiterated what was said?

I suppose if an explanation of the feature was the intention, then the Support Article that explains it, what it looks like on the screen, along with how to turn it off would be helpful to others that have the same question.
