iMessage fails for specific contacts on iPhone 12

I am able to send the iMessage on my MacBook to the specific person but not able to send the same message to the same person on my iphone12 however, If I create the group message including that specific person with others the message was delivered to that specific person. It only occurs to a number of people on my contacts. If I send the iMessage on my MacBook it does sync to my iphone12. Called Verizon to remove eSim and got it reinstalled, reset network setting, checked blocked contact, duplicated contact, remove contact, toggle off/back on iMessage etc. I did everything that I found it on the app. It is interesting the message was delivered on Group. I also remove the whole conversation as well.

Are you sending the message to their apple id or phone number?
