Was this case purchased more than 14 days ago? If so, you cannot simply return the case for a refund. But Apple offers a one-year limited warranty on their iPhone cases, which covers defects in materials and workmanship. If it were me, I'd make an appointment at the local Apple Store Genius Bar. It might be worth it to let them take a look. See what they say. Bring your receipt.
