Hi,

The issue is likely due to the iPhone 6s being technically unsupported by Apple for the latest iOS versions required for current iCloud integration with iMessage and FaceTime, or due to a mismatched Apple ID configuration.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Verify iOS Version: If your device is not updated to the latest supported iOS, iMessage and FaceTime may fail to activate or show "not supported." Apple has ended support for older models, so an outdated OS version is a primary cause.

  • Check Apple ID Consistency: Ensure the Apple ID signed into Settings > [Your Name] is identical to the one used in Messages > Send & Receive and FaceTime. Mismatched accounts trigger the "iCloud and iMessage accounts are different" error.

  • Reset Network and Services: Turn off iMessage and FaceTime> Restart your iPhone>Turn them back on.

If the issue persists, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

  • Account Re-verification: Visit apple.co/IMFT-mac to re-verify your Apple Account for iMessage and FaceTime.

If you use a phone number, ensure it is entered correctly in the settings.

  • Carrier Restrictions: Some carriers block the international SMS required for activation. If standard

troubleshooting fails, contacting Apple Support or your carrier may be necessary, as the activation process requires a response from Apple's servers.

If the device cannot be updated to a supported iOS version, iMessage and FaceTime functionality may be permanently limited or unavailable.
