How do I hide the iMovie Library so that the video is in the center?

Is there any way I can hide the iMovie Library part that's usually on the left of the layout so I can center the actual video I'm working on to be in the center of my screen?

I can't be the only one who thinks the layout doesn't make sense. Who needs the Library anyway? Even if we do need it from time to time, it definitely doesn't need to take a full HALF of the screen!

Hi,

To center your video in iMovie, you need to hide the sidebars (Library and Event Library) by clicking the Hide Library button, which looks like a square with an arrow pointing left, located in the top-left corner of the window. This action expands the timeline and viewer area, placing your video project in the center of the screen.

If you wish to hide the Event Library specifically while keeping the main Library visible, click the Show Event Library button (the square with an arrow pointing right) in the top-right corner to toggle it off.

Alternatively, you can customize the window layout by going to Window in the menu bar and selecting Show Event Library or Show Library to adjust the visible panels.

For more detailed instructions on changing the window layout, you can refer to the Apple Support guide on changing the window layout in iMovie on Mac.
