Y CANT I RESTORE MY I POD ON SAME FIRMWARE

all i want to do is wipe my ipod touch 32gb 3rd gen 3.1.2 clean like i do with my computer ever so often And y cant i do it with out upgrading to ios4 coz i dont want that even if i need to go on 3.1.3 i dont care just not ios4
so if any one can help tht would be great

Why plaster your title with a bunch of asterisks?
You can restore with the same firmware.
Hold Shift and click Restore then select the firmware file you want to use.
Look in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iPod Software Updates\.

tried that an dont work ive tried downloading it from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
and that dont work any other ways i can can do it

Perhaps you could be a bit more clear.
What "dont work"?
You could not find the file?
The file is not on your computer?.
You don't know which file to use?
You didn't get the popup asking you to select a file to Restore?
