Mac mini AirPlay fails on Sony/Hisense TVs

My Mac Mini 4 Pro will not Airplay to my Sony Bravia UR3 TV. It will Screen Mirror to the TV fine, but it will not Airplay. On my Mac mini, I push the Airplay button on the video I want to Airplay. The menu comes up on my Mac and I choose the Sony Bravia TV, but all I get on the TV is the screen that says "Airplay" and "Chose this device", but the video does not play. My iPad Air and my iPhone will Airplay videos to the TV fine. My Mac mini will airplay to my Apple TV device attached to another TV fine. All devices have the latest software updates. All devices are running on the same network and are on 5GHz.

BTW, this same Mac Mini 4 Pro will also not Airplay to my Hisense Canvas TV located in my winter home. The same screen on the Hisense Canvas TV pops up that occurs on my Sony Bravia UR3.

Both the Sony and Hisense are Android TV's I believe. But the issue is the Apple Mac Mini 4 Pro does not work. My iPad Air and iPhone both work when Airplaying to these TV's.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, have you found a solution? Thanks for your reply.

I can't be sure, but it seems to me that this could be due to the particular video file formats.

I have seen situations (with an LG TV, some time ago) where some videos didn't airplay because of an unsupported or unrecognized format, whereas others would airplay to the same TV.

What are you trying to Airplay to this TV? I'd try opening a normal mov or mp4 with h264 codec and see if that does work.

Luis, thank you for your reply. The file I am trying to Airplay to my Sony Bravia TV from my Mac mini is a video I took with my iPhone 17. It is a .Mov file. Info shows it to be Codecs:Timed Metadata, APAC, MPEG-4 AAC, H.264.

I airplayed a .Mp4 on my Mac mini to my iPhone and then used Airplay to play it on the Sony Bravia TV. It worked fine. But the same video file on my Mac Mini would not Airplay to the Sony Bravia TV. So there is definitely something about the MacOS system that is not working with the Sony Bravia TV versus videos on iPad OS and iPhone OS which do work.
