Mail app search fails to find existing emails
Mail App could not find an email. (Really stupid bug.)
Posting this here as I don't know of another way to provide feedback.
I was looking for a followup email since I hadn't heard from 1Password support.
I searched:
- support@agilebits.com
- support@1password.com.
I only got the boiler plate emails ("Thank you for reaching..", "We haven't heard..") and none of the emails that contained my discussion with the support agent. I was really annoyed as I initially thought I didn't hear back until I get the "We're closing this ticket.." and became suspicious.
I went to Gmail online and found the email immediately using the same search terms and was able to see the instructions (including the "let us know when you've done this..") to reopen my support ticket. Once I had the timestamp I was able to manually (painfully) find the email in the "all mail" category. Once I found it, searching via the search box for the same terms found that one email (as a separate search result) even though it's from "support@1password.com." However, the other 2 emails with my interaction with 1password were still missing.
I am... really frustrated here. I gave this Mail app a chance to be my daily driver now that I am on vacation (unemployed, gaming industry) and have the time to try something new. The mail app "categories" feature failed on this email and not only that, this app failed a basic search. Let that sink in, a basic search failed.
