MacBook Air M4 won't accept administrator password after a week of being turned off

Good afternoon,

I have a problem with my MacBook Air M4. I went on a business trip for a week and left the MacBook completely turned off. When I came back and turned it on, it suddenly stopped accepting my administrator password.

The password was only four digits long and was the same as the passcode on my iPhone. I am absolutely certain that I did not forget it or enter it incorrectly.

Could you please advise what might have caused this issue and how I can regain access to my MacBook?

Thank you.

Suggest you follow the detailed instructions in the below link from Apple for Reseting the Computer Password

A suggestion when you choose a new password

It is generally suggested to use a 12 digit Alpha Numeric Case Sensitive password

Yes, this may seem excessive but do remember the shorter the password and less complex it is

The easier it is for someone to guess the password
