How to fix Game Center not loading on iPad while working on iPhone?

I need to report an issue regarding Game Center. Game Center was working perfectly normal on my iPad Monday morning (June 22nd), however, later that evening, I noticed that the Signed In As box didn’t pop up like it was supposed to when I entered in a game. I went into Settings and clicked on Game Center. All I got was a white screen like it was refusing to load. I went into the Games app and it was the same thing. The Games app did not want to load. Game Center is working normal on my iPhone, but it’s not working on my iPad. I even put my tablet on Airplane Mode, restarted the device, logged out of Game Center, turned off Airplane Mode, and signed back into Game Center. I thought it had worked because I was able to get into one of my games, but when I switched to another game, the game got stuck on the loading screen. The Airplane Mode was more of a temporary fix than a permanent fix. This has been going on for two days now. Other people are having the same issue as I am. It works on the phone, but not on the iPad. Please help!

I have been to the Apple Store on have talked to Apple Tech Support. The issue with Game Center not loading properly is related to the last IOS update (26.5) and it only affects iPad models 16. This also keeps certain games like Angry Birds 2 from opening because it is linked to the Game Center. Apple engineers are aware of this issue and I was told today they are working on a fix. Not sure when that update will be available but that is the ONLY thing that will fix the problem. No point in trying anything else. We just need to wait for that update to be available.

I found a fix that somebody posted on Facebook. 1) Go into App Store & log out. 2) Restart device. 3) After restarting, go to Settings, click on the iCloud tab, click on See All, scroll down to Game Center, toggle off & on. 4) Go to the Game Center tab in Settings, sign out & log back in. 5) Go back into App Store and log back in. Let me know if this helps.

First of all, this is a user-to-user Support Community. I am not an Apple employee, nor are the VAST majority of folks you will encounter. The folks responsible for “investigating” issues for future releases do not participate here. If you wish to provide Apple feedback, you may do so here: Product Feedback - Apple

Otherwise, you should probably contact Apple Support directly: Official Apple Support

As for myself, it works fine on both iPads in my home- as I’m sure it does for most users - so I will not likely be doing anything as soon as possible.

I have an iPad (A16) running iPadOS version 26.5. I am experiencing the same issue as shannan86 & have tried all the suggested troubleshooting procedures online, including a forced restart, signing out of & back into my Apple Account, etc. I am able to play all my games on my iPhone 17 because the Game Center is functioning normally under iOS 26.5.1. There’s definitely a larger issue with Game Center on iPads. Please investigate and then provide details on the problem cause & resolution steps as soon as possible.

Fair enough. I will contact Apple Support as you have suggested.

That being said, dismissing our experience because a majority of people, including yourself, are not having a problem does little to foster user community collaboration.

When a problem impacts a number of people at the exact same time when things had been working normally earlier that same day suggests an issue larger than one which can be solved using standard troubleshooting procedures.
